Jackpot Ultra Running Festival
February 15 - 17, 2019 in You Know Where, NV
Beyond honored to announce the 6th Annual Jackpot Ultra Running Festival 100 Mile Race is again the official 2019 USATF 100 Mile Road National Championship race! In honor of receiving this prestigious hosting honor, we have kept the total prize pool to $10,000. We will be certifying the new 2019 Jackpot course (only change is for the 100 Mile USATF race) prior to the event. It warms our heart knowing newbies, along with mid-pack runners, will get the chance to race and share most of the course with ultra elite athletes. This race sells-out each year, so don't wait until the last minute to register.
Located minutes from the Las Vegas strip and just 10 miles from Las Vegas Airport, the $16 million, 100 acre Cornerstone Park is nestled among desert landscape and is anchored by a 31 acre bird sanctuary lake. The lake is surrounded by a massive grass area, entertainment plaza, individual picnic pavilions with lake views, walking/running trails, volleyball and basketball courts, restrooms, BBQ's, a warming kitchen and ample parking. And let's not forget all of the wildlife so many of us got to enjoy as we raced by. The Jackpot course consists of a 2.5 mile loop with roughly 100 feet of elevation ascend/descend per loop (4,000 feet for the 100 mile race). At an elevation of 1,900 feet and average mid-February high/low temperature of 61/45, the Jackpot course is extremely fast. Just ask how many runners had a PR in our inaugural event! Run on a course that is 45% groomed crushed gravel trails, 48% wide asphalt paths, 5% bridge/concrete surfaces, and 2% grass, the course is well suited for veteran runners wanting to PR, and with a 30 hour time limit, it is perfect for first time ultra runners. The RFID chip timed race starts at the entertainment plaza and makes a horseshoe type loop around the lake with lots of social runner interactions. Runners will be treated to two small picturesque bridge crossings every loop. The 100 feet of ascend/descend during each 2.5 mile loop occurs gently, without any steep climbs. The Jackpot course has become one of the fastest looped courses in the Southwest.
As with other Beyond Limits Running races, the aide station will be once again heavily stocked to take care of runners' nutritional needs and will serve a variety of hot meals, prepared with an on-site warming kitchen. Awards and runner bling will be very memorable. All runners will receive a unique finisher's medal, with 100 mile finishers earning a large buckle (both new designs). Both medals and buckles will be appropriately themed (think casinos). Not everything stays in Vegas and every runner will be leaving with a unique full of bling. As demonstrated during the 2014, 2015, 2016m, 2017 and 2018 Jackpot Ultra, the race directors go all out when it comes to designing unique awards. First through third place male and female finishers in each race will earn a trophy case quality award.
$10,000 in Prize Money Is Once Again Available
To celebrate our 6th year anniversary of hosting the Jackpot Ultra Running Festival, we will be awarding up to $10,000 in prize money. The first place man and first place woman in the 100 mile race will receive $1,000, while the second place man and woman in the 100 mile race will receive $500. Also, all men and women who win an ultra distance race AND set a new course record in any ultra distance race (50 mile race excluded) will receive their share of the prize pool. If you win the 48 hour, 24 hour, or 100 mile race and set a new gender course record, you will take home $500 cash. Win and set a new course record in the 12 hour or 6 hour race, you walk away with $250 cash. Lastly, if the first place finisher in the 100 mile male and 100 mile female races sets a new 100 mile USA record, they will earn an additional $1,500 each. So if you happen to win the 100 mile race and set both a course record and a new national record, you could win up to $3,000. Jackpot is very unique as it allows newbies, normal runners and elites to share a short, fast loop course. So as not to leave out the majority of runners from the prize fun, we will raffle-off a free weekend stay at the gorgeous mountain-side Beyond Limits cabin in Big Bear, California. Just register by Christmas and you will be included in the raffle. Come hit the Jackpot in Sin City and experience the over-the-top fun that comes with running a Beyond Limits Running race.
