Happy Hippie Harvest Run Overview

Beyond Limits Running, the producer of the nationally recognized Jackpot Ultra Running Festival in Southern Nevada, is proud to announce the creation of the Happy Hippie Harvest Run taking place at the iconic Gilcrease Orchard in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 23, 2019.  For the first time ever, happy hippie runners will have an opportunity to run through this historic 90-year old orchard in either a 5K or 10K race.

Runners will work-up a healthy hippie appetite as they run past apples, pears, peaches, cucumbers, sweet potato, squash, eggplant and of course the famous Gilcrease Orchard pumpkins.

Since the 3.1 mile flat and fast course meanders through the entire 67-acre orchard, runners will have a chance to get their happy hippie on as they say hello to the resident chickens, tortoises, bees and owls. This is your chance to show off your best hippie running attire and join your fellow hipsters as you run the inaugural Happy Hippie Harvest Run.

Race Logistics and Course Details

To minimize congestion at the starting line, the 5K race starts at 9:00 AM and the 10K race starts at 9:15 AM. Both races are run on the same course within Gilcrease Orchard (7800 N. Tenaya Way, Las Vegas, NV 89131). There is ample free parking located in the paved parking lot directly adjacent to the orchard entrance. The starting line is just a few hundred yards from the parking lot. The 3.1 mile race course is entirely contained within the orchard with 85% of the course run on newly paved asphalt paths and 15% on groomed dirt roads. The 5K hippies will run one course loop, while the10K hipsters will run two loops. Don’t let the happy hippie theme fool you; this course is flat, fast and ideal for running a PR.

Happy Hippie Harvest Run Goodies

Every Happy Hippie Harvest finisher will receive the most hipped-out medal ever designed, along with a commemorative happy hippie race bandana. As with all Beyond Limits Running races, the race will be RFID chip timed and there will be ample runner aide provide on the course and at the start/finish line. Hippie harvest themed awards will be presented to the top 3 male and female podium finishers in each race, and to keep everyone incented to run hippie fast, age group winners will also share in the love by earning a happy hippie harvest award. Speaking of awards, happy hippie costume running attire is very much encouraged with awards going to the best costumes. Stick around after the race to enjoy some festive music while socializing with your fellow hippies at the finishers’ Happy Hippie Harvest Finishers Tent.

Happy Hippie Early Bird Gift

While the early bird gets the worm, the early happy hippies get Gilcrease Orchard’s signature apple cider. The first 50 hippies to register for the event will receive a free half-gallon of this naturally sweet, robust flavored cider that comes from the Orchard’s apple trees. These 50 early hippies will pick-up their apple cider after finishing the race. We will promptly announce on our Beyond Limits Running FB page when the 50th hippie signs-up. Depending on the Orchard’s apple cider supply after their busy Halloween pumpkin picking season, apple cider might be available for purchase after the race.
